Garage Bases —
Heavy-Duty Foundations.
Guaranteed for 10 Years.
Heavy-duty reinforced concrete foundations for single, double & triple garages. Steel mesh reinforcement and DPM as standard. Vehicle-rated and built to last.
Why Your Garage Needs a Heavy-Duty Base
A garage base isn't just a slab of concrete — it's an engineered foundation that must support significant vehicle weight. A single car weighs 1,500-2,500kg, concentrated through four small tyre contact patches. Add a second vehicle, heavy tools, workbenches, and storage racking, and the loads are substantial. Standard domestic concrete simply won't cut it.
That's why every garage base we install uses steel mesh reinforcement as standard. The mesh distributes vehicle loads across the full slab area, preventing the cracking and settlement that plague unreinforced bases. We also include a damp-proof membrane (DPM) as standard — garages store valuable vehicles, tools, and equipment that rising damp can destroy. With our C35 vehicle-rated concrete, your garage base is built to perform for decades, backed by our 10-year written guarantee.

Heavy-Duty Reinforced Concrete
The Primary Choice for GaragesIdeal for: Single, double & triple garages, vehicle storage, workshops
A steel mesh reinforced concrete slab engineered for vehicle weight. We excavate to stable ground, lay a compacted MOT Type 1 sub-base, install DPM as standard, place steel mesh reinforcement, and pour high-grade C35 concrete to a vehicle-rated specification. Power-floated finish available for a smooth, sealed surface.
- Steel mesh reinforcement as standard
- C35 concrete — vehicle-rated specification
- DPM included to prevent rising damp
- Power-floated finish option available
- Requires 3-7 days curing before building
- Needs vehicle access for concrete delivery
- Larger bases may require building regulations approval
Ground Screw Base
For Difficult Access or Poor GroundIdeal for: Sites with restricted access, poor ground conditions, lighter garage structures
Galvanised steel screws driven directly into the ground using specialist machinery, supporting a timber or steel frame for lighter garage structures. No excavation, no concrete, no curing time. Ideal where vehicle access for concrete delivery is impossible, or where ground conditions make traditional excavation impractical.
- No digging or concrete delivery required
- Works on sites with restricted access
- Suitable for poor or variable ground conditions
- Fully reversible installation
- Best suited to timber/steel frame garage structures
- Not suitable for very heavy masonry garages
- Requires specialist installation equipment

Garage Bases Engineered for Vehicle Weight
"A garage base has to work harder than any other foundation in your garden. It carries the full weight of your vehicles — concentrated through four small tyre patches — day after day, year after year. That's why I specify steel mesh reinforcement and C35 concrete as standard for every garage base we build. I work to building regulations and your garage manufacturer's exact specifications. If you're planning a garage, give me a call — I'll advise on the right specification for your project."
