Why Choose Concrete?

Poured concrete is the ultimate foundation — offering maximum strength, longevity, and a 50+ year lifespan. When you need a base that won't move, won't rot, and won't let you down, concrete is the answer.

We use C30 or C35 steel-reinforced concrete for maximum durability and frost resistance. Every base is levelled to ±3mm using professional laser equipment and laid on a compacted MOT Type 1 sub-base. It's the base type required or recommended by most manufacturers for larger structures.

Craig Phillips

Concrete Is the Gold Standard

"Concrete is the gold standard for a reason — nothing else gives you the same combination of strength, longevity, and peace of mind. But it's not always the right choice for every site. Understanding soil conditions, drainage, and what you're building on top is key. That's why I always assess the ground first before recommending reinforcement, DPM, or a different approach entirely. Get in touch — I'll make sure you get the right base for your project."

What Our Customers Say About Their Concrete Bases

"Reinforced concrete base 6m x 4.2m. From first site visit for estimate/quotation to completion Craig and his team were consummate professionals."

— Verified Reviewer, BH23

"Excellent service... Chaps were friendly, helpful and hard working, despite having to wheelbarrow each load of concrete a long distance. They did a fantastic, neat job on the concrete foundation."

— adam50834, Salisbury

"The job involved digging up a thick reinforced concrete base. Then creating a whole new base with precision engineering in preparation to accept a new building on top. The result was an excellent job all round."

Concrete Base FAQs

We use C30 or C35 concrete for all our poured bases. These are high-strength, frost-resistant mixes that far exceed the minimum requirements for garden structures. C30 is perfect for most garden applications including sheds, garden rooms, and greenhouses. C35 is the stronger option, recommended for vehicle-bearing garages and areas subject to heavy point loads. Both provide excellent durability and a lifespan measured in decades.
