Start with what you want to build
A conservatory foundation has to do more than provide a level rectangle in the garden. Glazed frames, doors, dwarf walls and the floor need consistent support, with finished levels that meet the house correctly. Whether you are planning a small lean-to, an orangery or a modular replacement room, Craig can help you take the first step without needing a complete technical package upfront.
LEKA describes its prefabricated conservatory base and walls as suitable for support on concrete pads or structural ground screws. We can quote the agreed foundation work beneath the selected Xi layout, with support levels and interfaces confirmed by your installer.
Explore the details →Durabase confirms compatibility with ground screws and concrete pads. Its structural base sits above those foundations, so the support positions, brackets and base supply need coordinating. The screws are a specialist foundation package, not something automatically supplied with the Durabase kit.
Explore the details →Ultraframe publishes both screw-supported and concrete-pad routes for hup! Base. The foundation package follows the base loads and agreed connectors. A conservatory carrying an Ultraframe roof does not, by itself, confirm that it has this particular base system.
Explore the details →QuickBase combines helical screw piles with its own ground-beam system. We welcome foundation enquiries for projects considering it, but confirm the specialist package with Shire or the responsible designer. Ordinary ground screws or concrete pads must not be substituted into that system without approval.

Choose the foundation, not the complication
These are the methods worth assessing for this application. The structure, support plan and actual ground determine the right choice—not a one-size-fits-all specification.

Installed ground screws
For an approved screw-supported conservatory base, we install supports to the agreed layout and levels. Screw specification, connections and verification follow the building loads and site assessment, not a standard shed-base pattern. This route avoids a concrete-curing stage for the screw foundation itself.
Worth considering for: Compatible modular bases with an accepted screw design
Ask about this option →
Concrete
Individual concrete pads can support suitable prefabricated base systems, including manufacturer-approved LEKA Xi, Durabase and hup! Base arrangements. Pad size, depth, ground bearing and setting-out come from the accepted project detail. Allow for excavation, concrete strength gain and any inspection requirements.
Worth considering for: Modular conservatory systems whose supplier specifies pads
Ask about this option →
Concrete
For a traditionally constructed conservatory or orangery, we can quote specified strip or trench-fill footings, a designed raft or slab-and-foundation package. The walls, floor and ground determine the solution. A paving patio or ordinary garden-shed slab is not a substitute for a conservatory foundation design.
Worth considering for: Traditional construction or a separately designed alternative
Ask about this option →Clear prices, agreed scope
Specialist foundations need a quotation matched to the structure, ground and installation scope. A generic garden-building price would not reliably represent this project. Call Craig with your idea and postcode to get started.

Conservatory & Modular Conservatory Foundations installation
Planned around its use

We provide the agreed foundation installation beneath the conservatory, coordinating with your chosen building supplier. Ground screws are worth considering early for compatible designs: they avoid waiting for foundation concrete to cure and can reduce excavation through an established garden. Concrete pads and designed traditional foundations remain part of our service where those better suit the building or ground.
The proprietary base and the foundations beneath it are separate parts of the job. LEKA Xi, Durabase and hup! Base each have their own support and connection requirements. Shire QuickBase uses a different pile-and-beam arrangement. We welcome enquiries involving all four, but confirm the accepted system, installation responsibilities and product requirements before promising a particular solution.
For a replacement conservatory, the starting point may be a slab, dwarf walls and footings that are already there. Keeping suitable existing work can avoid unnecessary demolition, but a sound-looking floor does not prove that the foundations can carry the proposed room. The responsible building designer or supplier needs to establish what can remain and what needs replacing.
JustBases is an independent foundation contractor, not a claimed approved installer or partner of these brands. Our quotation sets out the groundwork we will deliver. Manufacture and assembly of the proprietary floor, walls, glazing and roof are not automatically included, and manufacturer-specific piling must be agreed with the responsible system provider.

Glass walls, masonry, roof choice and wide doors affect the support arrangement. Agree the complete proposed conservatory rather than sizing foundations from floor area alone.
Set support heights using the floor build-up, house threshold, damp protection and any required underfloor ventilation. Garden levels and rainwater drainage also need to work with the finished perimeter.
Side passages, steps, overhead restrictions and occupied gardens influence the installation method. Photographs help us discuss practical access without assuming a digger or a large delivery can reach the rear of the house.
When the design and ground are suitable
A screw-only foundation avoids pouring and curing concrete, reducing one source of weather-related delays. Unsafe access, flooding, frozen or unsuitable ground can still mean postponing installation.
Localised supports can reduce excavation and spoil compared with extensive concrete foundations. Clearance, pre-drilling, service trenches and machinery access may still disturb the site.
Using less concrete and moving less spoil can reduce material use and transport. Retaining vegetation may benefit habitats, but trees and wildlife still need protection. Steel manufacture and the full project design matter to any carbon comparison.
Before installation
Start by telling us which conservatory you are considering and whether the garden is clear or an old room needs replacing. We can discuss the foundation options with your installer and identify who will provide design information, remove existing work, handle drainage and assemble the base. For proprietary piling such as QuickBase, the relevant specialist must confirm the installation route before we agree the scope.
Conservatories follow the relevant house-extension planning rules; some proposals qualify for permitted development and some do not. Building-regulations exemptions also have conditions and should not be assumed for an open-plan room or a changed roof and wall arrangement. Your designer, installer or local authority should confirm the requirements for the complete proposal. Choosing screws does not remove those checks.
Before work starts, agree support locations, finished heights and any inspection or testing required. Buried drains, existing house footings, shared boundaries and nearby trees can affect the plan. If site conditions differ from the design assumptions, the detail needs review rather than moving a support or changing its type informally.
JustBases quotes the agreed foundation and groundwork. Product installation, specialist connections, commissioning and third-party design remain outside our scope unless the written quotation expressly includes them.
