Built for this application
A domestic oil tank can weigh several tonnes when full. Its base needs uniform support and must extend as required beyond the vessel, rather than resting on sleepers or a patchwork of slabs.
We install the agreed concrete or paving construction ready for the OFTEC-competent tank installer, who remains responsible for siting, fire separation, pipework and commissioning.
Options, assessed properly
The methods below are possibilities to assess—not interchangeable specifications. We match the foundation to the product, loads, support points, ground and access.
Concrete
A properly prepared concrete base provides continuous, level and non-combustible support for the approved tank location.
Often worth considering for: Most permanent domestic and commercial oil tanks
Paving slabs
Suitable paving slabs may form a compliant base when laid continuously on a sound prepared sub-base to the required extent.
Often worth considering for: Selected domestic tanks where the competent installer approves the detail
Specialist foundations are quoted from the actual product, support plan and site information. No VAT is added to the guide prices shown.
Before installation
The tank installer should confirm base dimensions from the vessel size and current guidance; the supporting surface commonly needs to project beyond the tank sides.
We do not relocate or disconnect an existing oil tank. Emptying, pipework and commissioning require the appropriate specialist.
JustBases quotes the agreed foundation and groundwork. Product installation, specialist connections, commissioning and third-party design remain outside our scope unless the written quotation expressly includes them.

Tell us about the heating oil tank, approximate size and site. We will identify any useful supplier information.

"Craig and his team were very professional throughout the job. They worked tirelessly and extremely hard. The job involved digging up a thick reinforced concrete base. Then creating a whole new base with precision engineering in preparation to accept a new building on top. The result was an excellent job all round."
