What the foundation needs to do
A garden observatory is really two foundation problems: the enclosure and the telescope support. Joining them rigidly can transmit footsteps and roof movement into the optics.
We install the approved enclosure base and, where specified, a separate pier foundation with a deliberate isolation joint between the two.

Freeze the telescope, mount, pier height and roof geometry before construction. An enclosure can fit physically yet block the telescope horizon or collide when parked.
Planning may depend on the building's height, roof movement and position. Check the complete observatory, not only the closed footprint.
