What the foundation needs to do

A freestanding cabinet run and a masonry outdoor kitchen can look similar when finished but impose very different loads on the ground. Ovens, stone worktops and built-in grills also concentrate weight along narrow support lines.

We set out the hard base from the final kitchen plan and can coordinate agreed service ducts and drainage before cabinets and appliances arrive.

Options, assessed properly

Suitable foundation methods

The methods below are possibilities to assess—not interchangeable specifications. We match the foundation to the product, loads, support points, ground and access.

Concrete

Concrete foundation

A slab or reinforced strips can provide rigid support for masonry, stone worktops and heavy appliances.

Often worth considering for: Permanent built-in kitchens and heavy islands

Paving slabs

Paving-slab base

Correctly prepared exterior paving gives a practical finished terrace for modular cabinet systems when local support is sufficient.

Often worth considering for: Lightweight modular kitchens and combined dining patios

Ground screws

Ground screws and support frame

Screws may support a structurally designed raised deck or framed kitchen platform, but appliance heat, loads and services must all be compatible.

Often worth considering for: Selected raised installations on sloping ground

A written price for the approved detail

Dimensions, approvals and responsibilities

Freeze the cabinet and appliance layout before setting service penetrations. Moving an island later may leave ducts in unusable positions.

Gas, electrical, water and flue work is outside an ordinary foundation installation and must be completed by the relevant competent trades.

JustBases quotes the agreed foundation and groundwork. Product installation, specialist connections, commissioning and third-party design remain outside our scope unless the written quotation expressly includes them.

Outdoor Kitchen Foundations FAQs

Not always. A sound level paved base may suit lighter cabinets, while masonry and heavy stone installations usually need a more substantial support design.
